Mythological tale of Naukuchiatal
According to local lore, Naukuchiatal is the spot where Lord Brahma, the creator deity in Hindu mythology, performed a yagna to create the universe. As the yagna’s culmination, Lord Brahma pour holy water from his kamandal into the earth. This produces the mystical lake with nine corners symbolizing the nine corners of the kamandal.
The legend goes on to narrate that the gods and goddesses were so happy with this creation that they blessed the lake with divine energy, making its waters spiritually potent. People believe that taking a dip in the pristine waters of Naukuchiatal can cleanse the soul and purify the mind, offering a connection to the divine realm.
